Who we are

New Life Christian Center is a Christian and Missionary Alliance Church that seeks to work toward the fulfillment of Jesus Christ's Great Commission.

Right before Jesus ascended to Heaven he gave to following instructions to all His followers:

18All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV)

In this statement Jesus commands all Christians everywhere to work toward the goal of making disciples of all the nations on the face of the earth. There are several points that need to be considered here. First, we are not told to simply make converts. We are told to make disciples. We are not expected to simply bring people to confess their sins and believe in Jesus. We are expected to teach them how to live a fulfilled life on earth by practicing the teachings of Jesus Christ in every area of one's existence. That is what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, and it also constitutes the true definition of a Christian.

Secondly, we are expected to make disciples of all "nations". In the original language of the Bible the word for "nations" (ethnos) meant "Ethnic Groups" or "People Groups", as opposed to nations with political boundaries. In an earlier passage in the book of Matthew Jesus said that His Gospel message needed to be preached to all the nations of the world before He would return (Matthew 24:14).

So, why is His Gospel so important? It is important because God has told us in the Bible that the Gospel alone is "the power of God for the salvation of everyone…" (Rom 1:19 NIV). The Bible teaches that every human being is born into a state of separation from God. Since God is the author and sole sustainer of life, our lives on earth are constantly wasting away. This happens both physically and spiritually. A man who dies without God inherits eternal death. In fact, Hell IS eternal death (Rev 21:8). This is what Jesus came to save us from. His Gospel message teaches us about God's one and only provision to connect the human race with God once again. And by coming into fellowship with God it also enables us to inherit eternal life. This is the definition of Heaven (which Jesus refers to as the "Kingdom Principles ").

New Life Christian Center exists to connect people to God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ by making disciples of all nations, especially those nations that are farthest removed from the Gospel. We accomplish this in several ways. Since we are based in New York City, we make it a point to bring the Gospel to various people groups around the city that need to hear the message of Jesus. We do this by distributing copies of the Gospel, Bibles, tracts, and other literature and media that educate people about the teachings of Jesus, instructing them how to become His followers. We conduct weekly activities of evangelism through various Street Ministries, Educational Classes, and Friendship Connections with anyone who is interested in learning more about Jesus. Secondly, we support missionaries who are active in spreading Christ's Great Commission all around the World. We send financial support as well as organize short term mission teams that go to foreign countries to support overseas missions. Thirdly, we encourage members of our congregation and others to support humanitarian relief efforts around the world through organizations such as CAMA and World Vision.

These are some of the ways New Life Christian Center is involved in supporting Christ's Great Commission at home and around the world. We thrive on making every effort to bring new people into Christ's Kingdom. Our passion is to make the excellence of His Life known to as many people as possible throughout the world.
